Day 1:
Arrival at Bari airport, where Guests will be welcomed by English-speaking
guide. Transfer by private bus to the hotel and accommodation. Dinner
at the hotel and overnight.
Day 2:
After breakfast, visit of Alberobello, the unique TRULLI town,
declared UNESCO World Heritage. Typical lunch in one of the most renowned
restaurants in Alberobello. Here it is possible to taste a
delicious gelato and also to learn how to make it!
After lunch, visit of Locorotondo, with special attention to
a winery (Locorotondo I renowned as "Citta del vino", wine
city) and tasting of the famous local white wine.
In the evening, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3:
Visit of Lecce, the Baroque capital of Apulia, with
particular attention to the Duomo, Santa Croce church and to walk
through the alleys of the Baroque city. You will be impressed by the
number of the paper-mache artisans' shops and laboratory. Typical
pastry tasting in one of the most renowned pastry shop in Lecce. (Or
typical "aperitivo" in a Historical palace).
In the afternoon, visit of Otranto, enchanting town over the
sea, the most Eastern town of Italy, where oriental and Mediterranean
suggestions mingle together in a harmonious beauty. Return to the
Hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 4:
Visit of Ostuni, the white town, where you will be touched
by its whiteness shining amidst a park of century-old olive trees,
and by the enchanting Cathedral.
Visit of an underground oil mill in the countryside, surrounded
by the century old olive groves, followed by extra virgin olive
oil tasting. (Puglia is renowned for its "oil culture",
and for the excellent quality of its product).
In the afternoon, visit of Grottaglie, the ceramic capital of Puglia,
where you can visit a ceramic laboratory with Medieval ovens. (It
is possible to have a pottery demonstration or hands-on lesson). Return
to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 5:
Visit of Castel del Monte, the castle of Frederick II, magnificent
example of his powerful domain. Lunch or focaccia tasting in a typical
Masseria (former farmhouse). Visit of Trani, beautiful town
with an enchanting cathedral built directly over the sea.
Seafood dinner in Trani, one of the most famous places for seafood
cooking. Return to the hotel, and overnight.
Day 6:
Visit of Castellana Grottoes, the biggest carsic grottoes in
Italy. After a long walk through the "Underworld" of Apulia
you discover the beauty of the White Grotto with its beautiful and
bizarre stone formations.
Visit of Polignano a Mare. Some houses in the old town of Polignano
are literary hanging over the sea as they are built on rocks 24 meters
over the Adriatic sea.
Farewell dinner in typical Restaurant (or in a Masseria - farmhouse,
where the guest will taste typical flavours of Puglia).
Day 7: After breakfast, transfer to Bari airport for departure.
